Description
The Audemars Piguet Royal Oak launched in 1972 and rewrote the rules of luxury watchmaking overnight. Designed by the legendary Gerald Genta, it was the first luxury sports watch in steel, priced at the time higher than many gold watches. Its revolutionary design, with an octagonal bezel secured by eight visible screws, an integrated bracelet and the fine Grande Tapisserie dial, was unlike anything before it. The Royal Oak carried Audemars Piguet through the quartz crisis and has since been regarded as one of the most important watch designs ever created. The blue Grande Tapisserie dial in warm Everose gold.
